Our Story
Idylwood. Beckett grew up in Redmond, WA and if he got his jobs done early then the family would go for a fun day at Idylwood beach on Lake Sammamish. Idylwood was the reward after hard work and hence the aspirational idea for the reward following the hard work of your business.
Beckett left Redmond to attend Brigham Young University and then served a two year mission for his church in El Salvador where he learned not just Spanish but an appreciation for hard work, persistence, and the opportunities we enjoy in the United States.
After graduating Cum Laude in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University Beckett went straight to work for ExxonMobil, with the majority of his focus on the business side of problems. During his time in Washington DC, Chicago, and Houston Beckett spent his time externally focused with Joint Venture partners, contractors, and suppliers. His worked spanned marine fleet operations, field engineering, large project management, Joint Venture oversight, crude trading, risk management, and crude supply business development and logistics. While in Houston Beckett received his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, graduating on the Dean’s list.
After 15 years with ExxonMobil Beckett and his family decided to move back to the West where he joined Intel’s Global Supply Chain partnering with key capital suppliers for Intel. Beckett eventually moved into the corporate business development and strategic alliance group where he enjoys consulting with internal business units on their commercial strategy and negotiations.
Beckett is not only a trusted advisor that provides insights across a wide range of topics, but is actively involved getting the actual work done wherever he’s needed.
Beckett is married to Ashley and the live in the Salt Lake City area. When not chasing around six kids, Beckett enjoys the outdoors, working on cars, and bbq.
